OpenAI launches ChatGPT Pulse to proactively write you morning briefs

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Pulse, a daily briefing feature that proactively delivers short morning updates based on your interests and activity. It’s now live for Pro users on the ChatGPT iOS and Android apps, with broader access to Plus and other plans coming later.

Key Points:

• Personalized Briefs: Pulse gathers 5–10 short updates each morning, drawn from your chat history, preferences, and optional integrations, so you can scan or dive deeper.

• Curation and Feedback: You can choose tomorrow’s topics by curating and give quick feedback with thumbs up or down to refine what Pulse shows.

• App Integrations: Optional Gmail and Google Calendar connections add context for meetings, trips, or follow-ups. These are off by default and can be turned on or off at any time.

• Memory and Privacy: Pulse requires memory to be enabled. Items disappear after a day unless saved as a chat, and you retain control over connected apps and data.

• Finite Design: Unlike an endless feed, Pulse ends after the daily set of cards, keeping the experience short and focused.

• Here is how to try it now (Pro, mobile):

  1. Update the ChatGPT app.

  2. In Settings, turn on Memory.

  3. Open Pulse and tap "Curate" to set what you want for tomorrow. Feedback received before approximately 10 p.m. local time is intended to appear the next morning.

  4. Optionally enable Gmail or Calendar with “Allow proactive activity.”

Reviews highlight that Pulse offers a clear, time-saving way to stay updated in the morning, though it currently works only on mobile and requires Pro access.

How to shop online smartly using ChatGPT

You don’t even need to waste hours searching through dozens of shopping sites. ChatGPT can scrape the web for you, compare products, and return direct links with prices, reviews, and availability in your area. Here is how:

1. Go to ChatGPT and hit the ‘Search option.’

2. Click the input box where you type your request.

3. Paste this prompt & replace the placeholders with your info.

   “Find me [product name] available in [your city or postcode]. My budget is [amount] [currency]. Include direct links to buy, up-to-date prices, in-stock status, star ratings, and customer reviews. Compare at least [X] options in a table, highlighting key features (brand, size, warranty, pros, and cons). Only show sellers that deliver to or allow pickup in [your city/country]. Exclude refurbished items unless they are clearly excellent value. Summarize which option is the best overall, best value, and best premium choice. Cite review sources and store pages.”

4. Wait for Completion. ChatGPT will process the request, search live sources, and return products with links, reviews, and comparisons. All you have to do is click and make a purchase.
