Key Points:

  • Ads show up below ChatGPT replies in a separate section. They are clearly labelled and not mixed into the answers you get.

  • Ads appear to logged-in adults on the Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education users do not see ads.

  • Ads are based on the topic you are chatting about and your general activity. Advertisers do not see your chats or personal details.

  • Chats stay private. Advertisers only see total numbers, such as clicks. Ads do not appear around sensitive topics like health or politics, and users under 18 do not see ads.

  • You can hide or report ads, turn off ad personalisation, or choose fewer daily messages to avoid ads on free plans.
