DOORDASH

Driver banned for faking delivery using AI

DoorDash has banned a delivery driver after discovering that an AI-generated image was used to fake proof of a completed delivery. The incident happened after a customer reported that their food never arrived, even though the app showed it as delivered.

Key Points:

  • The driver marked the order as delivered and uploaded an image that appeared to be a real front-door photo.

  • The image was later suspected to have been made using AI, not taken at the customer’s home.

  • The customer compared the uploaded image with a real photo of their door and noticed clear differences.

  • They shared the evidence online, and others said they had similar problems with the same driver name.

  • DoorDash reviewed the case and said it does not allow any form of fraud.

  • After the review, the driver’s account was permanently removed, and the customer received a refund.

AI AND INNOVATION

Amazon launches its new AI assistant in their browser.

Amazon has launched its new AI assistant in the web browser. You can now use Alexa’s upgraded AI directly on a website, without needing an Echo device. It brings the assistant to your computer, just like a chat tool.

Details:

  • You can use the AI assistant on Amazon’s new website, Alexa.com, using any modern browser.

  • You can ask questions, plan things, write text, and get help with daily tasks.

  • Your chats and settings sync across devices, so what you do in the browser also appears on your phone and other devices.

  • You can control smart home devices from the browser, such as lights, plugs, and thermostats.

  • The browser version is rolling out through early access first, with wider access expected later.

  • This move puts Amazon’s AI assistant closer to tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, and makes Alexa easier to use anywhere, not just at home.

How to use Google’s Opal in Google Gemini

You don’t need to open Google Labs or access Opal as a separate tool anymore. Google has moved it directly inside Google Gemini, so you can build AI mini-apps right where you already chat. Here is how:

  1. Go to Google Gemini and open the gem manager.

  2. You will see “build apps, a new kind of gem from Google Labs.”

  3. Click the + New Gem button in the bottom-right corner.

  4. Describe what you want the Gem to do in simple English.

  5. Wait for Gemini to build the Gem.

  6. You will see the new Gem saved in My Gems, ready to run anytime.

  7. You can edit it, reuse it, or share it later.

  8. If you are unable to access it, try using a VPN.
