ORACLE

Thousands lose their jobs in deep cuts at tech giant Oracle

Oracle has begun cutting thousands of jobs as it invests more in AI. The company is moving its focus from hiring people to building AI systems and data centres.

Key Points:

  • Oracle is laying off thousands of workers across different teams. Some reports say the number could reach tens of thousands.

  • The company is investing billions in AI tools, cloud systems, and large data centres instead of maintaining the same number of staff.

  • This is also about shifting money. Oracle is choosing to invest more in machines and systems rather than salaries.

  • Some workers were told they had lost their jobs via early-morning emails, with little warning.

  • Other tech companies are doing the same. Many are cutting jobs while investing more in AI and automation.

AI SAFETY

Claude code leaks yet again

Claude Code leaked again after a mistake by its own company, Anthropic. A software update accidentally shared part of its private code online.

Details:

  • The leak was not a hack. It happened because of a human mistake during an update.

  • About 500,000 lines of code were exposed and shared online very quickly.

  • Anthropic said no user data or private information was leaked. Only the internal tool code was affected.

  • The leak revealed new features, such as an always-on AI agent and other tools not yet released.

  • Developers copied the code fast and even rebuilt parts of the system.

  • This is not the first time this has happened, which is raising concerns about security.
