Facebook's latest AI feature can scan your phone's camera roll

Facebook’s new AI feature can now look at and edit photos still on your phone’s camera roll, even if you haven’t uploaded them yet. It’s designed to suggest creative edits, collages, and highlights, but it raises new privacy questions.
Key Points:
Smart Photo Suggestions: Facebook’s AI can scan photos stored on your device and suggest edits, layouts, or collages you might want to post. It works by analyzing your camera roll once you give it permission.
How It Works: The feature is optional. When you turn on “cloud processing,” Facebook temporarily uploads copies of your selected photos so the AI can process them. You’ll see edit suggestions inside the app, but nothing is shared unless you choose to post it.
Privacy and Control: Meta says photos that stay private won’t be used to train its AI or for ad targeting. You can turn the feature off anytime in settings under “Camera Roll Sharing Suggestions.”
User Concerns: Some users report that the tool appeared active without clear consent. The system can still read photo details like faces, objects, and timestamps to make its suggestions. This has raised questions about how much of your device data Meta can actually see.
It’s a creative tool for those who like AI editing, but it’s worth checking your privacy settings if you prefer to keep your phone’s photos truly private.

AI AND INNOVATION
Anthropic connects Claude to Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive
Anthropic has added a new feature that lets Claude work directly inside Microsoft 365 apps like Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive. It’s meant to make your daily tasks faster by letting Claude read and summarize messages, emails, and documents you already use at work.
Details:
You can connect Claude to Microsoft 365 so it can access chats in Teams, emails in Outlook, and files in OneDrive or SharePoint.
The setup uses a secure system called the Model Context Protocol, which keeps your information private while letting Claude understand your content.
Claude only reads and summarizes your data. It can’t edit or delete files, and it follows your existing Microsoft permissions.
The feature is available for Claude Team and Enterprise users, but your organization’s admin must turn it on first.
A new “enterprise search” option lets you find and analyze information across all connected Microsoft tools from one place.
