Google launches a new vibe coding tool called Opal

Google has launched a new experimental tool called Opal that lets you build simple web apps just by describing them in plain English. You don’t need to write any code. It’s now live in the U.S. through Google Labs.

Key Points:

Right now, Opal is only available in the U.S. as part of a public beta. Google hasn’t said when it’ll be released more widely. However, users outside the U.S. can access it using a VPN.

AI AND INNOVATION

Google’s new AI feature lets you virtually try on clothes

Google just launched a new feature that lets you virtually try on clothes using your photo. It’s built into Google Search and Shopping, so you can see how clothes might look on you before buying.

Details:

  • You can upload a full-body photo of yourself and tap the “Try It On” button when browsing clothing items. The tool then shows how the clothes would look on your actual body, not just on a model.

  • It currently works with tops, pants, skirts, and dresses from major retailers like Macy’s, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Nordstrom. More brands and clothing types may be added later.

  • The system uses AI to adjust the fit and style of the clothing to match your body shape, posture, and skin tone, giving you a more personalized view.

  • Once you've tried something virtually, you can save the look, share it with friends, or keep browsing outfits without leaving the app. It’s all built into the shopping experience.

How to Create AI Faceless Videos with Consistent Characters

Creating AI videos with consistent characters has always been an issue, but this tool helps solve that and can even produce faceless videos up to 10 minutes long.

  1. Go to Syllaby and log in to your account.

    • You’ll land on the dashboard, where you’ll see your name and video options.

  2. Click “Character Consistency” in the left sidebar under the “Creation” section.

    • This is where you set up or select a reusable character that keeps your voice, tone, and branding consistent across videos.

  3. Choose an existing character or click “Create Character” to set up a new one.

    • You’ll pick the voice, tone, and avatar settings (even if you plan to use faceless mode). This step helps personalize the narration.

  4. Click “Create Video” using the selected character.

    • You’ll be taken to the script editor.

    • This is where you decide what the video will say.

  5. Type or paste your script into the editor.

    • Choose “Faceless Video” as the format.

    • This removes any human or AI face from the visuals and focuses on voice narration, b-roll, stock footage, or kinetic text.

  6. Wait for the preview to generate.

    • Review the audio and visuals, then click “Generate” to export.

    • The platform may ask for changes or allow you to edit visuals and timing. Once done, export or schedule the video right away.
