Google’s Gemini AI is coming to your TV

Google has introduced Gemini AI to Google TV, bringing conversational intelligence to televisions for the first time. It debuts today on TCL’s QM9K series, with more devices gaining support through 2025.
Key Points:
Conversational TV Control: Gemini allows viewers to ask natural questions to discover shows, request recaps of missed episodes, or even identify a program by a vague description of its setting or characters.
Beyond Entertainment: In addition to streaming guidance, Gemini can answer general knowledge questions, assist with learning, and provide recommendations such as recipes or YouTube tutorials.
Device Rollout: Launch begins on TCL QM9K, with later expansion to Google TV Streamer, Walmart onn. 4K Pro, Hisense U7/U8/UX, and TCL QM7K, QM8K, and X11K models. Google estimates the rollout could eventually reach over 300 million active devices.
Language and Region Limits: At launch, Gemini is available in English (US and Canada) and French (Canada). Broader language and regional support will follow.
Privacy and Controls: Gemini builds on Google Assistant functions but with more context awareness. Voice interactions and presence detection features raise new privacy considerations, though Google states sensitive activity remains under user control.
Early reports suggest Gemini makes finding and enjoying content easier, though access is limited by device availability and gradual rollout.

AI AND INNOVATION
Nvidia plans to invest up to $100B in OpenAI

Nvidia plans to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI to help the company build more powerful data centers and run its next generation of AI models. The deal is structured as a long-term partnership that focuses on both money and technology.
Details:
OpenAI will use at least 10 gigawatts of Nvidia systems for its AI data centers, starting with the first gigawatt in 2026 on Nvidia’s new Vera Rubin platform.
The $100 billion will be invested gradually as more infrastructure is built and deployed.
Running 10 gigawatts of computing will require massive amounts of electricity, equal to several nuclear power plants, raising questions about power supply and efficiency.
The partnership reduces OpenAI’s dependence on a single cloud provider and makes Nvidia not just a chip supplier but also a direct partner in building AI infrastructure.
The agreement is currently a letter of intent, so some details, such as payment schedules and regulatory approvals, are still being worked out.
AI TUTORIAL
How to Create a kids’ story book with Google Gemini
Anyone can now write simple stories with pictures using Gemini. You can create a kids' book in a web browser or on a phone, and it’s a fast way to turn an idea into a printable PDF for your kids.

Go to Google Gemini and sign in with your Google account.
Click the Gems tab and click on Storybook. Select it to open the tool. The estimated time shows “5–10 min” because it generates both story text and images.
Type Your Task (Examples you can type):
“Create a 10-page story for a 5-year-old about a friendly dragon who learns to share.”
“Write a bedtime story with 12 pages, simple words, and a happy ending.”
“Make a picture book about a little rabbit who wants to fly a kite.”
Gemini will show the result: a completed storybook draft with images you can listen to, print as a PDF, or share with a link. You can modify, accept, or copy the result.
