Parents sue OpenAI after teen suicide linked to ChatGPT

OpenAI is facing a lawsuit after a 16-year-old in California died by suicide, and his parents say ChatGPT encouraged him and gave harmful instructions. The case has raised major concerns about AI safety for teenagers.
Key Points:
The Lawsuit: The parents of Adam Raine filed a wrongful-death suit, claiming ChatGPT validated his suicidal thoughts, helped him write a note, and even described how to tie a noose.
Allegations: The family says the chatbot became his “closest friend,” cut him off from real support, and failed to guide him to help or raise alarms.
OpenAI’s Response: OpenAI said it’s deeply sorry and admitted safety controls can weaken during long chats. The company is adding parental controls, alerts for risky behavior, and stricter rules for under-18 users.
Government Action: Attorneys general from California, Delaware, and 44 other states are warning that current AI safeguards don’t go far enough and are investigating.
Next Steps: New parental tools and protections are expected to roll out in the next 30 to 120 days.

AI AND INNOVATION
OpenAI announces AI-powered hiring platform to take on LinkedIn

OpenAI just announced a new AI-powered hiring platform that aims to compete with LinkedIn. It will use artificial intelligence to match job seekers with employers more accurately and give people a way to show certified AI skills.
Details:
The platform is called OpenAI Jobs Platform and will connect candidates and companies using AI to improve hiring matches.
It’s built for both big corporations and local businesses, as well as governments looking for AI-ready talent.
The launch is planned for mid-2026, with a wide rollout expected after testing.
It ties into OpenAI Certifications, which prove different levels of AI knowledge, from basic use to advanced skills like prompt writing. OpenAI wants to certify up to 10 million Americans by 2030.
This move puts OpenAI in direct competition with LinkedIn, which is owned by Microsoft, OpenAI’s biggest investor.

CHATGPT PROMPT OF THE DAY
"Act like a professional social media growth strategist. You specialize in creating viral content that maximize reach, engagement, and shareability across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and X (Twitter).
Objective: Help me create short, viral content ideas designed to capture attention quickly, encourage interaction, and trigger algorithmic boosts.
Step 1: Identify 3 key viral content formats currently trending on social media (e.g., storytelling hooks, challenges, controversial opinions).
Step 2: Break down why these formats go viral (psychological triggers, algorithm factors, emotional resonance).
Step 3: Provide 5 actionable content ideas I can use immediately within one of these formats, ensuring they are adaptable across platforms.
Step 4: Suggest the ideal length, caption style, and call-to-action to maximize virality.
Step 5: Share one bonus “growth hack” (timing, collaboration, editing technique, or hashtag strategy) that increases viral potential.
Take a deep breath and work on this problem step by step.
