OPENAI

OpenAI launches a general-purpose agent in ChatGPT

OpenAI now lets users connect their Spotify accounts to ChatGPT, allowing the model to access playlists, liked songs, and listening history to deliver personalized music and podcast recommendations. The integration is available for Free, Plus, and Pro users worldwide.

Key Points:

Spotify Account Linking: Users can link their Spotify by selecting “Use Spotify for this answer” when ChatGPT suggests it during a music-related query. Permissions include viewing and managing playlists, playback, and saved content.

Playback and Playlist Control: ChatGPT can start, pause, skip, or queue songs, create new playlists, follow artists, and suggest tracks based on listening habits.

Personalized Experience: Both free and premium Spotify users benefit, but premium subscribers receive more refined and interactive recommendations.

Privacy and Data Use: Spotify confirms that listening data isn’t shared for AI training. Users can revoke access anytime through their ChatGPT settings or Spotify account.

Availability and Access: The feature rolls out globally in English to 145 countries, with gradual expansion to other languages expected later.

AI AND INNOVATION

Figma partners with Google to add Gemini AI to its design platform

Figma has partnered with Google to bring Gemini AI into its design platform, giving designers faster tools for image creation, editing, and idea generation directly inside Figma.

Details:

  • You can now use Gemini 2.5 Flash and Imagen 4 to generate visuals, edit them, or request variations without leaving the canvas.

  • Figma says image generation is now about 50% faster, making workflows smoother for larger design teams.

  • Enterprise users can manage AI permissions, control data use, and opt out of sharing content for model training.

  • The integration is part of Google’s broader effort to expand Gemini into creative and productivity tools.

  • Early testers note that the new AI features make brainstorming and prototyping much quicker, especially for layout and brand mockups
