NEWS OF THE WEEK
Zoom will let AI avatars talk to your team for you
Zoom is getting closer to letting AI avatars attend meetings for you. As part of a broader AI expansion, Zoom announced it will soon let you create an AI avatar of yourself that you can use to send brief messages to your team. To create a digital avatar, you’ll need to record an initial video of yourself that Zoom’s AI will use to make an avatar that looks — and even sounds — like you. From there, you can write the message you want your AI avatar to say and then have it do all the talking for you. Read more.
Why should you care?
Advancement in Personalized AI: The creation of avatars that both look and sound like users shows the growing sophistication of AI, blurring the line between virtual and real presence in meetings.
Automation in Communication: AI avatars can automate routine communication tasks, allowing users to delegate brief updates or messages without needing to be present, which enhances efficiency in remote work.
Increased Accessibility: This feature could be particularly valuable for individuals who can't attend meetings in person due to scheduling conflicts, enabling seamless participation via their AI counterparts.
Ethical and Privacy Considerations: As AI avatars become more lifelike, it raises important discussions about data privacy, consent, and the potential misuse of such technology for impersonation or fraud.

Writer RAG tool: build production-ready RAG apps in minutes
RAG in just a few lines of code? We’ve launched a predefined RAG tool on our developer platform, making it easy to bring your data into a Knowledge Graph and interact with it with AI. With a single API call, writer LLMs will intelligently call the RAG tool to chat with your data.
Integrated into Writer’s full-stack platform, it eliminates the need for complex vendor RAG setups, making it quick to build scalable, highly accurate AI workflows just by passing a graph ID of your data as a parameter to your RAG tool.
